During the China Wind Power 2024, WINDEY launched the world's first new-generation medium-voltage doubly-fed 10.X series platform generator set equipped with a 10.5kV/1800V electrical system, marking another major breakthrough by WINDEY in the field of doubly-fed wind turbine R&D, and heralding the accelerated and high-quality development of China-characteristic large-capacity doubly-fed technology route.
As a product upgraded from the existing medium-voltage doubly-fed (10.5kV stator, 1140V rotor) system, the new-generation generator set adopts medium-voltage doubly-fed (10.5kV stator, 1800V rotor) technology. Through further increase of the voltage level, the product effectively resolves the design bottleneck of the electrical system of large-capacity generator set of 10MW and above in the industry, achieving a triple qualitative leap in terms of industrial maturity, safety & reliability, and engineering friendliness.
Industrial maturity: The new-generation generator set derives from WINDEY's profound accumulation in the medium-voltage doubly-fed technology field over the years as well as WINDEY’s rich experience and practices in industrialization and application of over 3,000 generator sets. It has undergone extreme tests in various operating conditions such as plateau, Gobi desert, and offshore area. The supporting industrial chain is nearly perfected, and the product is trustworthy.
Engineering friendliness: The new-generation generator set adopts prefabricated wiring harnesses in full series to achieve plug-and-play electrical installation in engineering, effectively shortening the construction period and significantly improving the installation quality and efficiency.
Safety and reliability: The new-generation generator set helps further reduce losses and improve power generation efficiency by innovating in the motor rotor structure, making breakthrough in the capacity limit of switch device, and completing the design and test of the core module of the converter in the wind power application scenario. Besides, it resolves a series of issues such as excessive cable twisting for wind turbines of 10MW and above and the safety & reliability problems caused by the ultra-large stator/rotor current of doubly-fed product, achieving the control and protective design to medium-voltage system and the technical breakthrough of core components.
